Meet the Team

ANGELA LINDBECK

OWNER / FOUNDER

Long before Good Company Cafe became a neighborhood favorite, it began with Angela’s simple belief that the best memories are made around a table.

Starting a business at just 25 years old required equal parts determination, resilience, and faith. Angela embraced the challenge with a clear purpose: to create a restaurant that reflected the warmth, generosity, and sense of connection she believes great hospitality should inspire.

Guided by that vision, she built Good Company Cafe into a space where families celebrate milestones, friends linger over brunch, business ideas are shared over coffee, and neighbors gather simply to enjoy each other’s company. Every detail, from the warm atmosphere to the thoughtful service, reflects her belief that creating community begins with making people feel at home.

Angela has shaped Good Company Cafe into a beloved Huntsville destination while remaining true to the values that inspired it from the very beginning. Angela’s greatest success is not measured by the number of guests served but by the relationships built around the table and the community that continues to gather there.

Whether she is welcoming familiar faces, encouraging her team, or dreaming up the Café’s next chapter, Angela remains dedicated to creating a place where good food and good company always go hand in hand.

John LINDBECK

EXECUTIVE CHEF / CO-FOUNDER

John Lindbeck is the Co-Founder and Executive Chef of Good Company Cafe, bringing more than 20 years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry to the table. His culinary journey began at the ground level, working as a dishwasher and busser before advancing through nearly every position in the front and back of the house, including server, bartender, and line cook. This hands-on experience has given John a unique understanding of every aspect of restaurant operations and the importance of teamwork in creating exceptional guest experiences.

Driven by a passion for food and hospitality, John worked his way into kitchen leadership and earned his first Executive Chef position before the age of 30. Throughout his career, he has developed a reputation for creating approachable, ingredient-driven cuisine that combines classic techniques with a genuine appreciation for comfort and community. His culinary philosophy is simple: great food should be thoughtfully prepared, consistently executed, and shared with the people you care about.

In 2018, John played essential roles in the founding of Good Company Cafe with his wife, Angela, with the vision of creating a neighborhood gathering place where outstanding brunch and genuine hospitality go hand in hand. Under his leadership, the restaurant has become a Huntsville favorite, known for its scratch-made dishes, welcoming atmosphere, and commitment to quality. Eight years later, that vision continues to grow with the expansion of Good Company Cafe into Huntsville’s historic Five Points neighborhood.

For John, cooking is about more than serving a meal; It is about creating connections, celebrating local community, and making every guest feel like they’re in good company.

Paul Berger

Etta's Tavern General Manager

Paul Berger is the General Manager here at Etta’s Tavern in Five Points. Always a moth to the flame for the controlled chaos of food service, he jumped at the chance to take on a brand-new concept and bring years of hospitality experience to the table.

A Nashville native who now calls Huntsville home alongside his wife, Rachael, Paul leads with a simple philosophy: take care of the people, and everything else follows.

Paul finds joy in books, cooking, and competition, and he’s thrilled to be pouring his energy into the Five Points community.

Lauren Howard

SOUTH HSV CAFE MANAGER

Lauren has been a cornerstone of the Good Company Cafe Team. Joining the team six years ago, she has grown alongside the café and now serves as our Cafe Manager. She has helped shape the welcoming atmosphere and sense of community that our guests have come to love.

Her journey is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and passion for hospitality. Through the years, she’s developed a deep understanding of hospitality, leading by example and fostering a culture of teamwork, kindness, and genuine care for both our staff and our guests.

As Store Manager, Lauren keeps the day-to-day operations running smoothly while ensuring that every person who walks through our doors feels right at home. Whether she’s supporting the team during a busy brunch rush or taking the time to connect with regulars, her warmth and leadership are an essential part of what makes Good Company Cafe special.

We’re proud to have her leading our team and helping create the experiences that keep our community coming back for more.

Sawyer Green

FIVE POINTS CAFE MANAGER

Sawyer leads the team as Cafe Manager of our Good Company Cafe Five Points location, bringing a people-first approach shaped by more than a decade of experience in user experience and customer service within the tech sector. He is passionate about bringing that knowledge into the hospitality industry, helping shape every guest’s experience by creating a place where everyone feels at home.

Inspired by his current read, Unreasonable Hospitality, Sawyer believes that thoughtful intention and genuine connections can turn a great meal into a lasting memory. When he’s not at the cafe supporting the team during a busy brunch service or getting to know our regulars, he enjoys spending time on the golf course or the pickleball court.

We’re grateful for his leadership and enthusiasm in helping make Good Company Cafe Five Points a place our local community loves to gather.
